Welcome to How to Origami
Origami (pronounced or-i-GA-me) is the Japanese art of its own accord. “Ori” is the Japanese word for folding and “kami” is the Japanese word for paper. It is the art of folding paper.
There are ventures that present a test to a wide mixture of abilities. The steps are as follows: first choose suitable paper and cut to necessary form and size. Next, Fold paper cleanly and precisely, especially at the small points of corners.
Some providers of Origami require you to print the page and fold to make your creation. Others provide written instruction so parents can read the instructions while kids fold. Just use the written instructions to give some pointers if necessary. Here in How to origami I will strive to provide you with some useful model instructions on this blog so that you can start immediately and practice your origami skills.
On the web there are three basic kind of instructions, first and most popular are the model schematics that show you the sequence of folds to perform in order to build the model; second are the sequential pictures of the foldings being performed, and lastly, videos of people folding these models. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages, for example, model schematics are very easy on the eyes and are usually understandable and clear, but sometimes, especially for complex models, it is difficult to understand exatctly how the fold is to be made. On the other hand, videos show you exactly how the folding is done, and depending on the video quality and the artist’s skill, some videos can be easier to understand than model schematics or picture sequences. However, in my experience, most videos are way to fast to follow, and the user has to pause and replay many times to get the concepts presented. Finally, picture sequences have the advantage of being still, so the user can stare at them as long as they wish. The only disadvantage I have found is that sometimes the artist skips some steps that might be considered basic but tend to confuse the beginner users. Taking all that into consideration, here at How to origami you will find a combination of these three approaches so that you can get the best out of each one!
Beginners and experienced origami artists alike will find something new and interesting here, from the latest in origami technology to interesting models and designs, to origami news and the impact of origami on the world, to just having fun wth origami.
